Enjoy a performance by Harvey Reid, master minstrel, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been called "one of the true treasures of American acoustic music". For OBHS members - new members are welcome.

Annual membership in the Old Berwick Historical Society is $20 per person, or $30 for a family. Member support provides the basis for the museum and for community local history programming throughout the year.

The museum’s new exhibition, Village Voices: Tales of Enterprise and Endurance, will also be on display. The largest expansion of display space in decades at the Counting House, Village Voices occupies the historic second-floor hall. The exhibit chronicles four centuries of enterprise in the region through the lives of residents who have shaped key trades. The role of ingenuity and adaptation in sustaining work life is a primary theme.

The Counting House is the Old Berwick Historical Society’s 1832 textile mill building by Quamphegan Falls on the Salmon Falls River. The society’s annual membership meeting begins with refreshments and exhibit viewing at 7:00 pm, and will be followed by the concert.

Reid, who has played for years throughout seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine, is also known nation-wide as a master minstrel, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Most widely known for his acoustic fingerstyle guitar work throughout his 35-year career, Reid is also a singer and lyricist. He also plays mandolin and bouzouki.

Reid’s recordings on Woodpecker Records have included hip-folk to country, slashing slide guitar blues to bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, ragtime and even classical.
